This self-paced journey brings together both parts of the Empowered Menopause course, offering a holistic exploration of menopause from physiology to meaning. You’ll gain clear medical understanding of hormones and hormone therapy, alongside embodied practices for supporting sleep, sexuality, self-care, and nervous-system regulation.
Designed to be taken in your own time, this course supports both education and integration—helping you understand what’s happening in your body while also making sense of what this transition is asking of you on a deeper level. It’s an invitation to move through menopause feeling informed, resourced, and gently guided back to your own inner wisdom.
Course outline:
Part 1:
1) Hormone Basics – slide presentation with Dr Shana to learn the basics of hormones and hormone therapy
2) Supplementary videos – A collection of videos to deepen your understanding of the material in Hormone Basics. Available in video or as audio only to listen “on the go”
a) What’s Happening to Our Bodies? – A review of hormone physiology and stages of the menopause transition
b) Are Hormones Safe? – Risks and benefits of hormone therapy
c) Progesterone – A deeper look at progesterone including Dr Shana’s own experience with it
d) Estrogen – A deeper look at estrogen including Dr Shana’s struggles to find the “right” dose and product for her
e) Testosterone – A deeper look at testosterone including Dr Shana’s experience with it and more info on dosing/monitoring
f) Empowered Menopause – Stress and the menopause transition, and how our symptoms can be our guides towards a life that feels more aligned with who we really are
Part 2:
1. Sleep, Sex and Self Care – slide presentation with Dr Shana as she gives a high level overview of some of the tools and concepts she found most helpful in navigating her own rough menopause transition
2. Supplementary videos – A collection of videos to dive deeper with Dr Shana on the ways she’s supported herself through this rough transition. Available in video or as audio only to listen “on the go”
