Menopause, Let’s Talk About It

Navigating menopause can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone

Did you know menopause symptoms can start in our 30s and can last well into our 60s and beyond!?!

Join Dr. Shana Johnston and a small group of women for an intimate and honest conversation about both the physical and spiritual aspects of our menopausal transition. The hormonal roller coaster of perimenopause/menopause can take us on a wild ride with a plethora of body and mood changes that can leave us feeling completely disoriented and wondering which way to turn. Dr. Johnston knows all too well how challenging it can be to navigate our way through all these changes. She brings with her the embodied experience of a rough few years making her own way through this transition. She also brings with her the embodied wisdom she’s gained as she’s made her way through this important life transition.

Whether you’re just beginning to get symptoms, you’re deep in the throws of this transition or you’re starting to come out the other side, you’re invited to bring your questions and join the conversation! There is so much wisdom to be gained when women come together to share and learn from each other.  We’re stronger together. Come join us!

Highlights of these sessions:
  1. Expert Insights: Dr. Shana Johnston brings not only her knowledge of menopause as a family doctor, but also her own embodied experience of a rough menopausal transition and a deep desire to help other women through these challenging times.
  2. Supportive Community: Connect with other women who are going through similar experiences. Share your stories, learn from others, and build a network of support.
  3. In-Depth Discussions: Engage in meaningful conversations about the challenges and changes associated with menopause. This group is a safe space to discuss concerns and share practical advice.
  4. Holistic Approach: Dr Johnston brings an integrated approach to menopause, exploring this transition through the lens of body, mind and spirit. Our discussions can range from practical issues such as safety and use of hormones to navigate some of our symptoms to deeper spiritual aspects of the menopause transition. Each session will be adapted to the needs of that particular group.
  5. Safe and Confidential Environment: Participate in a supportive and confidential setting where you can feel safe to talk about what’s really going on instead of having to pretend to be “fine” while looking after the needs of everyone around you.
Menopause Basics Video Series

In anticipation of our time together, I have curated selection of videos from my course Coming Home to Ourselves at Midlife that I hope you will find helpful. In the first video, I talk about reframing our menopause transition as a portal to our wisdom years. Next, you’ll find all four videos from the module on hormones – where I discuss hormone physiology, risks and benefits of hormones, basics of hormone therapy and a bonus video where I share my own journey with hormone therapy. Finally, I’ve included a video on mood regulation and stress management. I offer you these videos in the hopes they will help you begin to make sense of what is happening to us at this time of life and empower you with information and insights.
